This week we celebrate the bounty and lingering days of summer with a Spa theme – Exercise and Eat Well! Now that summer has arrived in Seattle, at least for a few more weeks, we encourage you to take a break from work and stroll on over to the Farmboat Market on the Virginia V – This is a day for you to experience a holistic approach to health. Consider taking a short exercise class with instructors from 5focus – we think you will find this 30 minute class be fun and invigorating! All exercise levels encouraged to attend. Just wear some comfortable clothing and shoes to join in the fun.
New this week at Farmboat is an opportunity to meet Dr. Todd Luther, DC from Align Chiropractic who will be offering free posture and spine assessments.
From Marshland Orchards we have a wide selection of fresh produce including bush beans, chioggia beets, broccoli, purple bok choy, Arrowhead cabbage, Savoy cabbage, rainbow carrots, celeriac, flat kale, green onions, red fingerling potatoes, radishes, rutabaga, assorted summer squash, tomatoes, zucchini, lemon cucumbers, baby leeks, daikon, white onions, red/yellow/orange bell peppers and spinach! We also are happy to be able to bring you again this week fresh gourmet garlic from Willowood Farm. Fifth generation farmers at Willowood Farm really know their garlic! We have three varieties to try for your delectable recipes. Belarus, is a marbled purple garlic that is easy to peel and is used for a variety of recipes. Music is a porcelain variety that roasts well and has a buttery flavor and Xian, is a great stir-fry garlic. Try them all and you’ll experience flavor unlike what you find in the store.
On hand again this week we also are happy to share lavender infused jams from Lavender Wind Farm on Whidbey Island. A special treat for the whole family! Enjoy this jam with your morning toasts or scones along with a cup of freshly brewed coffee or tea from Hart coffee.
Local chef, Adrianna Coella will be back again serving her freshly made tamales, tacos and other tasty south of the border menu items!
